Getting stories, like the stories in Personal Statement, into the world feels really important right now. This documentary follows three young people in Brooklyn as they make sense of the (wildly complicated!) college application process and guide others through it too. Through their stories a whole lot more is explored. Class. Gender. Privilege. Race. It is all here. When it feels like so many of us are under attack, we need to lift stories like these. We need to lift each other.
