This semester I was very involved by working, being in student groups, and going to professional events. Being involved as an undergraduate I feel is an important part of the experience. It is during these experiences that you are able to meet new people, build connections, and have fun. I think it is important for first generation students to become involved especially because many of us may not have the family connections or help to meet people in companies etc.. This is our chance to build networks and connect for our future careers. Does anyone else think being involved as an undergraduate is crucial for first gen students?
